With introduction classes out of the way, the students forged into their first proper topic of the course. Two students from the Engineering course, Nicolas and Adrian, were witnessed bouncing down St Thomas’ Street with giant smiles on their faces after their amazing Calculus class which according to them blew their minds three times. The other classes also all settled into their routines and enthusiastic talk of course work and lunch destinations dominated the morning’s conversation. In the afternoon, the rain of the morning eased just in time for the first Masterclass of the summer school: Resilience. Students learnt techniques to deal with present and future stress from groups of young Oxford medical students. After dinner the students headed off for a live performance of Romeo & Juliet in the shadow of the Oxford Castle. Everyone then returned home well worn out by a long day and ready for bed.
