Scholarship Nominations

Thank you for nominating a student for an Oxford Scholastica Academy Scholarship.

We are keen that as many students as possible are able to attend Oxford Scholastica, no matter what their financial circumstances, as part of our commitment to provide 10,000 hours of support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds over the next three years.

How it works

Brief Summary

Thank you for nominating a student! The process should take a maximum of 10-15 minutes.

The important things to note are:

  • You must be a teacher from one of our Partner Schools, or a staff member at one of our Partner Organisations
  • Our Scholarship Panel, which meets once a month, will consider the nomination and if they accept it they will send the student and parent/guardian an application form which they should fill in within seven days
  • If our Panel accept the student’s application, they will become a scholar for one year (or until the end of the school year if they are 18). This entitles them to join our OxBright Scholars programme for free during this time
  • If the student would like to continue with OxBright Scholars in subsequent years, we will be happy to extend the term of their scholarship, as long as the student has a good attendance record and has participated well in the programme
  • Our OxBright Scholars programmes are for students interested in Business & Economics, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Politics & International Relations, and Psychology
  • To make things as easy as possible for teachers (as we appreciate you are very busy), once you’ve nominated the student we’ll liaise with the student and their parent/guardian directly, keeping you posted

Criteria
We offer scholarship places on our dedicated OxBright Scholars programme for students who are keen to learn and would benefit from being a scholar, and who meet one or more of the following criteria (if your school is an international school then the student should meet the equivalent criteria in your country):

  • Aged 15-18
  • In receipt of a UK Government 16 to 19 Bursary, or equivalent
  • Part of the UK’s Pupil Premium Scheme
  • Receiving free school meals, or have received them in the past five years
  • Are or have ever been a Young Carer
  • Are or have been in care
  • In receipt of a school bursary
