Law Summer School Testimonials
The law summer course was a really wonderful experience. I got the chance to explore what Law is really all about. Classes were very interesting and I loved how the tutor made the class very interactive, not to mention the Masterclasses. Each day we learnt different topics on the subject basing all on real-life events which prepped us for the long-waited ‘Challenge Day’, which was a blast. We got the chance to explore the beauty of Oxford and staff handled us with such great care which I truly appreciate. Always ensuring that we were safe and sound and felt like we were at home. Who knew that in those short period of time, such good friendships could be built. I wouldn’t trade that for anything. The programme was one of the best things that has happened for me. Looking forward to paying Oxford and OSA another visit.
I have taught with Oxford Scholastica for a number of years and am consistently impressed by the excellent experience students are offered. As both a former teacher and university admissions advisor at a leading UK school, I can say with confidence that OSA students are offered an invaluable opportunity to explore what really interests them, and prepare for their path to university. It really does give students an advantage.

Why study Law?
Students who’ve graduated from our Law Summer School often go on to study law at university, and in doing so they’ll receive a number of benefits, including:
Law is an interesting and challenging subject
The law isn’t as black and white as you might think. It requires careful interpretation and reference to precedent, as well as sharp critical thinking and advocacy skills. It’s a profession that will continue to stretch your intellectual capacity throughout your career.
The law has many applications
The law impacts everything you do in your day-to-day life. Being a legal expert therefore has a huge number of potential uses, not just for working in the law, but also for your day-to-day life.
There are lots of different specialisms
From criminal law to civil law, commercial law to human rights law, there are so many different areas of the law that you’ll be able to pursue a specialised career path that matches your interests.
Law is rewarding
Lawyers help society to function according to the rule of law. They are passionate about seeking justice. And they often engage in “pro bono” work, supporting less advantaged people or non-profits for free.
You’ll earn a good salary
Lawyers famously command high fees, particularly with experience. Even the starting salary for a newly-qualified lawyer can be as high as 100,000 GBP a year.
