Online Internships At A Glance
Each step of the way, you’ll be supported both by your host organisation and by your Oxford Scholastica Mentor, an expert in the field who will help you to make the most of your project and add real value to your host organisation.
On the first day of your internship, you’ll meet your Mentor and the other interns in your team. You’ll then be introduced to the host organisation, to its mission, vision and values, usually by the founder or CEO, who will assign you a project based on a real problem to solve. During the week, you’ll work with a small group of other interns from around the world on the task, supported by your Mentor, and will present your findings to the founder or CEO on your final day.
At the end of the internship, you’ll have gained a network of contacts from around the world, hands-on insights into your field, and valuable experience for your university applications and future CV – supported by a Letter of Recommendation from your host organisation (at the discretion of the organisation, depending on your performance).

Business Development Internship
Are you interested in seeing how an early stage start-up business can become established and scale? Would you like to experience life in an exciting new venture, and gain experience of solving business problems?
We have Business Development Internships available with multiple host organisations, including – in January – Piya Media. Whichever organisation you intern with, your task will be to help them grow their business. This will involve researching potential strategies, deciding on the most appropriate options, and pitching your ideas to the organisation’s decision-makers. This is a unique opportunity to help scale a venture from the ground up, and will provide you with insights into the specific, real challenges faced by start-ups, as well as valuable experience for your future career.
The Business Development Internship is perfect for any students thinking of applying for business at university, considering setting up their own venture in the future or who are just interested in learning more about how business really works.
Marketing & Design Internship
Are you fascinated by the power of branding? Do you want to stretch your creative skills, and help work on a real-life marketing challenge?
On our Marketing & Design Internship, you’ll get an insight into how the field of marketing works, by working with a Digital Marketing agency (Piya Media). You’ll take on a creative project for a client, helping them to express their brand through the power of words and media. For students with an interest in marketing, writing, advertising or design, this internship is the perfect opportunity to work on a real project for a client and prepare to kick start your career in these fields.
As an education technology startup, we have been wanting to find ways to expand our services internationally. Who better to help us answer that question than a team of young people who experience education in their every day school lives. The insights the Oxford Scholastica interns gave us as to what young people are looking for, the gaps in school provision and the best way to market our offerings were significantly impressive, and challenged some of our preconceptions in a positive way. We gave them a real-life business challenge to grapple with, and they more than rose to the task.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply to my chosen internship?
Please apply by filling in our short form. In the form, we’d like to hear about why you’d like to do your chosen internship, so that we can ensure that all interns get as much as possible out of the experience.
Is there an application deadline?
There is no fixed deadline, as we assess applications on a rolling basis until we are full. We will reply to your application with a decision within one working day.
What will I get at the end of the internship?
At the discretion of your host organisation, depending on your performance, you’ll receive a Letter of Recommendation after your internship. You’ll also leave with a better understanding of what it’s like to work in your chosen field, a network of contacts from around the world, and the valuable experience of real problem-solving.
Can I do more than one internship at the same time?
We love your enthusiasm, but it’s unfortunately not possible to do two internships at the same time, given the time you’ll need to dedicate to your project.
Do I need any special software or equipment in order to join my internship?
You don’t need any special software or equipment – just a quiet space in which to work and a reliable internet connection. You’ll be provided with a login to the software you’ll use to communicate with your team and your Mentor.
Who will my Mentor be?
Your Mentor is a young professional with experience of studying and working in your chosen field. They will support you and your team throughout the internship, helping to push your ideas further in order to provide as much value as possible to your host organisation and ensuring that you make the most of the opportunities given.
Is the internship suitable for international students?
Absolutely! As long as you’re able to be online each day from 1pm-3pm GMT with your Mentor and your team, you’re welcome to join us from any time zone and any country! We’re very excited to welcome students from around the world to our events each year.
