Online Internships At A Glance
Each step of the way, you’ll be supported both by your host organisation and by your Oxford Scholastica Mentor, an expert in the field who will help you to make the most of your project and add real value to your host organisation.
At the end of the internship, you’ll have gained a network of contacts from around the world, hands-on insights into your field, and valuable experience for your university applications and future CV – supported by a Letter of Recommendation from your host organisation (at the discretion of the organisation, depending on your performance).
In October, we’re offering limited places on two internships with our partner organisation, an early stage EdTech (Education Technology) start-up business. On the first day, you’ll be introduced to the venture, to its mission, vision and values, by its co-founders, who will assign you a project based on a real problem to solve. During the week, you’ll work with a small group of other interns from around the world on the task, supported by your Mentor, and will present your findings to the co-founders on your final day.
Times: Your live sessions will be from 1-3pm GMT each day, when you’ll be online with your team mates and your Mentor. You’ll also be given additional tasks and research to complete outside of this, which may include conducting focus groups, online research, writing and preparing presentations. You may choose to collaborate with your fellow interns when doing this, or do the work independently, and this will take place at times that are suitable for you.
Who is it for? Students aged 12-18, with a real interest in your chosen field. You will be assigned to a team with students in your age bracket (12-14 and 15-18).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply to my chosen internship?
Please apply by filling in our short form. In the form, we’d like to hear about why you’d like to do your chosen internship, so that we can ensure that all interns get as much as possible out of the experience.
Is there an application deadline?
There is no fixed deadline, as we assess applications on a rolling basis until we are full. We will reply to your application with a decision within one working day.
What will I get at the end of the internship?
At the discretion of your host organisation, depending on your performance, you’ll receive a Letter of Recommendation after your internship. You’ll also leave with a better understanding of what it’s like to work in your chosen field, a network of contacts from around the world, and the valuable experience of real problem-solving.
Can I do both internships?
We love your enthusiasm, but it’s unfortunately not possible to do both internships at the same time, given the time you’ll need to dedicate to your project.
Do I need any special software or equipment in order to join my internship?
You don’t need any special software or equipment – just a quiet space in which to work and a reliable internet connection. You’ll be provided with a login to the software you’ll use to communicate with your team and your Mentor.
Who will my Mentor be?
Your Mentor is a young professional with experience of studying and working in your chosen field. They will support you and your team throughout the internship, helping to push your ideas further in order to provide as much value as possible to your host organisation and ensuring that you make the most of the opportunities given.
Is the internship suitable for international students?
Absolutely. As long as you’re able to be online each day from 1pm-3pm GMT with your Mentor and your team, you’re welcome to join us from any time zone and any country! We’re very excited to welcome students from around the world to our events each year.
