Getting up on the second day of the summer school seemed easier as everyone overcame their tiredness from travel. Students headed off to their classes and began to embrace the schedule of classes, study and lunchtime exploration. In the early afternoon we had our first Masterclass of the school, Resilience, where the skill of stress management was passed on by Oxford medical students. After Resilience we headed to straight to University Parks, a favourite lunchtime haunt for procrastinating students. We enjoyed a picnic of pizzas and before a play, Blithe Spirit, in the park grounds. We then returned to the accommodation, where St Thomas’ celebrated Patrick’s birthday with a spectacular cake. Ghadi and Ahmed led the singing of Happy Birthday while the crowd (and Patrick) salivated the prospect of Sophie’s homemade cake.
