Our first Thursday of the summer school began as normal, with all the students now comfortable with the daily schedule of class, study and freetime. The afternoon brought with it a chance for the students to explore potential careers and study plans. After loading up on information the students moved onto the focus of the evening, the Oxford Olympics. Across a broad range of events the teams competed for glory and the adoration of the crowd. Maya gets a special mention for her lightning fast egg and spoon racing skills (Georgia wanted me to refer to them as egg-cellent). Another honourable mention goes to the team of James, David, Ariel, Sanofer and Zayyan who put in significant training prior to the five legged race but unfortunately were unable to come away with the result. The day ended with a birthday cake to celebrate Valeria’s birthday courtesy of director Sophie.
