The day started with our students racing off to class, enjoying another packed day of learning. After their class and a chance to finish any homework they had during independent study it was time for everyone to head into Oxford for our back to back masterclasses which were focused on helping students with both career advice and help with university decisions. This was found to be extremely helpful for our students, with the talks covering topics such as do’s and dont’s at interviews and what to look for in university courses.
After the busy day so far our students grasped the chance to recharge their batteries with some much needed food as everyone headed over to Westgate shopping center and Gloucester Green for a wide variety of restaurants to dine in! The meals were enjoyed across the board with some hilarious moments occurring too! I’m sure everyone will think of how Bazak tried to use chopsticks as straws in the food court which was met by a roar of laughter.
Once we got back the houses were split into those that wanted to play games in St George’s and those that wanted to watch Brazil vs Belgium which was met by amazement but was also great bonding among students as everyone settled down to watch the World Cup. Despite some disappointment from our Brazil fans, the game proved to be a nail-biting experience for everyone, and left all the students chatting and cementing friendships.
