The second week of the summer school started off with classes and private study time in the morning and an exciting afternoon of debate. The Debate Masterclass, hosted at the Oxford Union, gave the students an opportunity to learn about the British Parliamentary debate style. They then put everything they had learned into practice by debating against each other in the Oxford Union chamber.
The Oxford Union is a world-renowned debating society that has hosted high profile guests from around the globe. Guests of the Oxford Union have included a number US Presidents and UK Prime Ministers, international leaders and notable figures such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mother Teresa and Senator Robert Kennedy.
A$AP Rocky, Yoko Ono, Shakira, and Michael Jackson have also come to speak at the Union, together with leading figures from the world of sport, sciences, film, theatre, art and journalism.
After learning and practising the British Parliamentary style of debate, some students were selected to debate in the Oxford Union Debating Chamber.
