Yesterday was a momentous day for the Oxford Scholastica Academy as we welcomed our first students of 2014. We are proud to have students from a variety of countries and look forward to watching the World Cup with everyone!

I’m Ade, one of the Activities Coordinators, and I’ll be writing the blog over the next fortnight (I’m pictured here with Georgia from our team).

Ade and Georgia

In order to introduce all the students to Oxford, today we went on a tour of the city, where students were intrigued to find out about the origins of the university.

Fatma and Gabriel also learned that umbrellas are a crucial possession in Oxford as it rained for the first time!

Our last activity of the day was a treasure hunt, where teams were placed in their teams for the rest of the school.

A lot of creativity was on display. Treasure hunt challenges included running around the Radcliffe Camera (with Sinan A the winner of the Roger Bannister Award), taking phone box selfies, throwing mortarboards in the air and spotting as many Union Jacks as possible!
