Our Engineering Preparation Learning Philosophy

During your time on the programme you will Learn the subject, See it in action and Do it yourself through an exciting Challenge:

Learn like you’ve never learnt at school before. Explore the key concepts, history and theory behind Engineering in a hands-on, interactive way. You’ll take part in small, dynamic classes led by our brilliant tutors who are subject experts from world-class institutions.

On your “Challenge” you’ll put all the theory you’ve learned into practice and apply your knowledge to a real life problem. It’s not the only practical activity you’ll do on your course – the course is full of opportunities to apply your skills – but for many of our students, it’s their highlight!

You’ll experience our Industry-Led Project where you’ll receive a brief from an industry professional who will ask for your help to solve a real-life problem, and you will work to deliver them high-quality results. Test your Engineering knowledge and skills while you showcase and present your innovative ideas and creative problem-solving. You’ll carefully manage your project and work together as a team to stay on track. You’ll see the results of your hard work and achieve something that can be used in the real-world of industry. You’ll get to experience what it’s like to implement Engineering solutions to a real-life issue, which will help when you come to write your university application.

You’ll meet our “Heroes”, young professionals who have studied Engineering and gone on to build a successful Engineering-related career. Discover what steps they took to realise their potential, and how you can too.
