Students were greeted by smiling staff as they arrived at their Oxford Scholastica accommodation in the city of Oxford. After settling into their rooms, some students chose to take a quick nap before the evening festivities, whilst others decided to group together and explore some of the famous sights in Oxford or go shopping on the High Street.
Parents made their way to the rooftop of Malmaison hotel, where they were greeted by Jamie and Sophie, Oxford Scholastica’s Directors, and enjoyed some cold drinks and beautiful views of Oxford.
In the evening, after saying their final goodbyes to their parents and families, students gathered on the rooftop to enjoy a barbecue dinner with new friends. Everyone headed inside the hotel to escape from the rain for the ice-breaker games where the students got the opportunity to learn everyone’s names and learn about their peers’ interests and backgrounds.
The day ended on a high note, when everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to Martin, who turned 16 on Sunday. With cake in hand and smiles on their faces, the students were eager to return to the accommodation to relax before a day of introductory classes and exploring Oxford on Monday.
