The first day of the summer school finally arrived, and for many not a day too soon! Students flowed in over the day into both St Thomas’ and St George’s. After settling into their accommodation for the next two weeks, students and visiting parents headed over to the Oxford Castle for a relaxed reception in the sun of the early afternoon. A number of our students from the hotter climes were very excited when the weather turned from the rather balmy weather of the early afternoon, and after some final farewells we headed inside for dinner. Following the food, the students were taken out onto the rooftop terrace for some ice breaker games, challenging wits, checking fitness and and playing games purely designed to make everyone look like twits.
After the games the students headed home for their first nights in their rooms in the annexes of St Peter’s College.
