Luckily yesterday’s weather didn’t last, and the sun was shining again for our trip to Cambridge. Students enjoyed a trip round St John’s College, one of the most famous in Cambridge, as well as Jesus College, another large and spectacular college. They particularly enjoyed the fact that any student caught attempting to ride the horse sculpture in the first quad is automatically ‘sent down,’ that is, expelled from the university!
The market square was a favourite for lunch, with cuisine from all around the world available to try. The mini dutch waffles were a particular highlight for many students and staff members, and everyone returned from their break happy and well fed.
In the afternoon, everyone enjoyed a punting trip where they were regaled with facts and stories about the city, as they were chauffeured down the river in style!
